Tonight I got a chance to visit Nottingham's own 'Comedy Glee Club' , and I was not left disappointed!
Doors opened at 7pm, and the acts began at 8pm. There were four comedians in total and the evening lasted until around 11pm. (There was a 15 minute intermission between each act to allow you to get another drink in or visit the restroom).
The venue consists of two bars and two stages. The ground floor hosts a bar with tables and seating that is accessible the general public. Ticket holders are sent upstairs to either the first or second stage, which has its own private bar and reserved table seating.
Food and drink is available throughout the show. The menu is relatively varied, including Fish Finger Sandwiches (£7.25), Jumbo Chillidogs (£5.90), Fish and Chips (£8.40), Burgers, and Carmel Popcorn (£2.50), to name a few.
The bar serves your standard drinks: wine, beer, cocktail pitchers and spirit mixers, starting from just over £3. (N.B. there is a £10 minimum charge when paying on card but you can receive cash back).
At the beginning of the night, you will find a slip of paper on your table to fill out before the show. This is a raffle which gets drawn during the second intermission, giving you a chance to win tickets to future shows and wine.
(Just remember to hand the slips in before the show for a chance to be drawn).
With a friendly atmosphere, and top quality comedy acts, this is one night out that I would definitely recommend to all! Tickets cost £10 for Adults and only £5 for students. A total bargin!
